DIETARY PREFERENCES / INGREDIENTS
Yes! We have several menu items that are entirely gluten-free! Check our menu annotations for specifics. You can also substitute our sandwich breads and pasta noodles for an upcharge, subject to availability. If you’re sensitive to gluten, we advise you to let your server know you have an allergy/sensitivity, and we will accommodate you.
Not currently. Please let your server know about any allergies and restrictions you may have.
Our dessert cakes and pies are made by Golden Boy and Sweet Streets. If you would like to order an entire cake for personal purposes, feel free to call us during business hours. Please know that we need a minimum of 48 hours to fulfill the order. All cakes come pre-portioned and cut.
Our salmon is farm-raised in the Atlantic Ocean (Argentina), and we marinate it in-house in a house-made soy sauce marinade.
Our house dressing is a Lemon-Poppyseed Vinaigrette. It is vegan and gluten-free. We use red onion in it, which gives it the pink appearance. We sell our house dressing in bulk. It is $5 for 8 oz and $9 for 16 oz; availability subject to change. Inquire at the host stand.
OUTSIDE FOOD & BEVERAGE
No, outside food & beverage is not allowed. However, the two exceptions are a celebration cake and an unopened bottle of wine.
Yes, there is a $15 corkage fee.
DELIVERY & PICKUP ORDERS
No. At this time, Hendel’s only offers online and carry-out ordering to be picked up at the restaurant. The only exception is for large catering orders.
Yes! Please call the restaurant during business hours and ask to speak with Nathan.
Absolutely! Visit our “Online Ordering” page to order.
We do not offer curbside pickup at this time. Patrons must retrieve their to-go order inside the restaurant.
As we are a relatively small establishment, during high-volume/peak hours (weekends/summertime), we may pause our online ordering system to ensure the best service for our in-house guests.
We do not allow “to-go” orders to be eaten on Hendel’s premises.
WAITLIST, RESERVATIONS, & PARTIES
We do not take reservations at this time.
Yes, we work on a first-come, first-served basis. Once we are full, we use an online, live waitlist, linked on our website homepage and Google. It can only be joined the day of your expected dining time.
We highly recommend joining the waitlist when you’re on your way to the restaurant. Fill in your information and follow the text prompts. It will display your place in line and text you when your table is ready. You can reply to the text if you need to communicate with the host directly.
Up to 8 guests at one table in our dining room. We cannot accommodate larger groups, even at separate tables. Our kitchen is not equipped to service large groups as well as the regular restaurant patrons. We recommend reaching out to Cugino's (also here in Florissant) for larger groups and party needs.
RESTAURANT
We have a small parking lot that fills up quickly; however, there is plenty of free street parking nearby.
Yes. We offer a kids’ menu that can also be found online.
Dogs are always welcome on our outdoor patio when it is open. Only service animals wearing “service animal” harnesses are permitted inside the restaurant.
Yes, weather permitting, May-September. Our patio closes for inclement weather, including, but not limited to: storms, extreme heat, and high wind. We do our very best to create a comfortable environment outside for our patrons to enjoy with the use of fans and bug repellent, but cannot guarantee a nature-less environment.
At peak lunch and dinner times, the dining room can be loud. We do our best to mitigate this, but we are situated in a 150-plus-year-old brick building with hardwood floors. If noise is a concern of yours, feel free to ask our host to accommodate you in a quieter room.
Our front porch is a versatile area directly off the dining room that we utilize primarily from October-April, our winter months. It is heated and enclosed during that time.
During the summer, it is an open-air room that we use only when we cannot have the patio space open.
Our patio comprises two outdoor seating areas, one with umbrella tables and the other under a covered awning.
ENTERTAINMENT
Throughout the summer, we have weekend music on the patio 5:30-8:30, subject to change. Keep an eye on our social media channels for weather updates and upcoming performers.
We are always open to new music performers! Please fill in a contact form through our website including your music style, availability, and pricing.
We want everyone to be able to enjoy our food and atmosphere within our quaint space. We kindly request that our patrons respect a 90-minute table time during high-volume hours and especially on our patio during the summer. Common restaurant courtesy is to vacate a table once you have finished your food/beverage and paid. We offer comfortable chairs, rockers, and benches on our patio to anyone who would like to stick around and listen to music after their meal.
During the month of December, we have decorated rooms, including Christmas trees in our dining room and on our front porch, and we participate in the Historic Florissant Open House Tour. It is always the Sunday after Thanksgiving. The kitchen is not open during the tour, but refreshments are offered. https://historicflorissant.com/
